The children's thoughts about New York

Dear New York,

I like the museums and the history of New York. I have learnt many things that I will tell my class about.
I like the statues, and I really loved the Statue of Liberty. I enjoyed the shops - I have done lots of shopping. I loved Toys R Us - so many cool toys. There are so many nice restaurants. My favourite thing to eat is sushi.
Today I liked the hands on technology museum. Yesterday I liked looking in the old library. It has so many colours. I enjoyed Grand Central train station with wonderful shops and nice tasting food.
Things I didn't like so much about New York were the dirty streets, lots of people, and too many cigarettes.

New York

One of the things I enjoyed in New York was the Natural History Museum. It was full of interesting and cool things, such as the luminescent mushrooms in the 'Creatures of Light' exhibit, and the 'Flying Monsters' IMAX show.
I also loved seeing the Statue of Liberty up close on our cruise around Liberty and Ellis Islands. Both had special histories - the Statue of Liberty had been given to New York by France, and Ellis Island was where all the emigrants came in and got checked, ready to be let into New York.
Yet another thing I liked was our sushi lunch in down town Manhattan. Nothing could beat the soup and sushi with all the flavours and a little bit of wasabi.
That's not all ...
I also really, really liked our bike tour around Central Park. It is such a nice quiet place, except for one part that was bubbling with excitement. There was a man in that area who used rope and a bucket of detergent to make huge bubbles. It was cool when Oliver got trapped in a big bubble.
The Sony Centre blew my mind, as all the things you could do were just amazing. Controlling the robots, filming a news report, making a video game, and creating a movie trailer were awesome.
The only thing I did not like was the amount of rubbish on the street, but it was comparatively small given the amount of people who are in New York - so I guess it was not so bad.
Thank you for all the wonderful experiences New York!

What I liked about New York

Everything!
I liked Toys R Us because it was a huge toy store. I bought some paper planes there. I rode the Ferris wheel in the store.
I liked riding a bike in Central Park. We got off the bikes and I made big bubbles with the man who had a big rope and a bucket of bubble mixture.
I saw a movie about flying dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum. I liked the fossils exhibit at the Museum.
I have had mint icecream in New York. I have had New York pizza. I liked the Hawaiian flavoured pizza.
We ride the subway to get around New York. It is the C train.

New York

I liked living in the house in New York. I like playing motorbike games on the ee-pad in the house. It is nice to have a bed to sleep in because it is a bunk bed.
I liked going to the top of the Rockefeller Centre. The lights up there were fun. I couldn't really see the Statue of Liberty from the top, but I could if I used the binoculars.
In New York I bought a Star Wars helmet, and a Transformers lunch box bag. It was sparkly.
I really liked the 'Spiders Alive' exhibit at the Natural History Museum. There was a big spider at the end, but we couldn't climb on it.
I liked seeing New York, but not all the walking.
