New York Public Library

Today was a slower paced day - much needed - much enjoyed. We started with some schooling at home, which surprisingly was an enjoyable and pleasant experience today. After an easy lunch, we headed to the New York Public Library. Ken and I loved this place last time we were here 8 years ago, and still felt the same this time - though it was even better to share it with the kids. We spent ages reading books in the children's section. We viewed 'Murcator's 500th Anniversary' exhibition - maps, maps, maps! We found a super book in the Library shop "The Works - Anatomy of a City", all about how New York works, purchased it, and reading it on the subway, sparked a conversation with a local. After the library, we headed to Grand Central Station to just walk around the huge building and people watch, eat some cheesecake, and people watch some more. A great, relaxed day.

the boys playing a game of ' Rat-a-tat-Cat', though I suspect some improvised rules and a touch of cheating!

School in Manhattan

on the way to the Library, we came across a giant inflatable rat and 4 smaller rats! Very New York!

Awesome, wonderful place!

Benedict was fascinated by the encyclopaedias in the Public Reading Room - Oliver , not so much :)
