Rockefeller Centre

by Sophia

Today I went to a huge toy store. It was 3 storeys high. There was mostly boy stuff. But there was a big house full of Barbies. I DID NOT BUY A BARBIE!!!!  I bought a Cabbage Patch Doll and some glow in the dark stars for my bedroom roof. We also went to the Rockefeller Centre. It is a very tall building. If you went up there you would be able to see the whole of New York. For lunch today we had sushi, and it was a bit bland but still nice.

Today we went up the Rockefeller Centre. It is a huge building that is 266 metres high. When we got inside we took an elevator with a 3D show on the roof. We went to the 68th floor which had a souvenir shop in it and a giant window to look out of. Then we went to the 69th floor which was completely made of glass, and then the 70th floor which was completely open!
Afterwards, we went to Toys R Us which is a huge toy store with 3 levels of toy glory. Benny was a super shopper. I got myself a Harumika doll, and as for Ben he got a Star Wars mask, a cap, a lunch box and a super paper plane!

On top of the Rockefeller Centre

'Light display' room ... the lights followed you around as you moved, and if you hugged the person next to you, your light colour on the ceiling would change!

sunny kids!

Ken took this photo from the ferris wheel looking back at us!

At Ken's toy store - The Compleat Strategist (yes, that is the correct store spelling!)

Finally, last night Ken and I went to dinner at 'Rice and Beans' a Brazilian restaurant - our meals were lovely and Ken enjoyed Xinghu beer. We then went off Broadway to see 'Avenue Q' which was great - kind of like the muppets with 'adult' themes! Lots of fun!
