Wedding anniversary, label makers and truck driving

So, it really isn't long now until we go. The trip is consuming the thoughts of everyone in the household at the moment - so much so that today, on our 15th wedding anniversary, Ken and I briefly congratulated each other on that achievement, but quickly began calculating how long until we leave and what chores are left to be done before departure!

Tomorrow sees Ken and I spending hours at a driving school learning to drive a truck. I have decided that it will be better to be scared lifeless at the sight of such a behemoth now, rather than when we take possession of   our motor-home in the USA. That way, when we get to the US, the horror will still be fresh, and I may just recall some of the safety issues I really need to know when driving a very heavy vehicle!

On a more pleasant front, the house is looking very clean! Ken has been cleaning cornices, fans and walls (he's tall ... he simply has to do those jobs). We have been going crazy with our (ok - "Ken's") labelling machine - stand still long enough and we may label you and where you belong in the house! Hopefully our house guests will be able to find everything easily enough, whilst chuckling gently at our cute OCD tendencies for neatness and order in the house ....
No, really, it is cute ... and neat ....

So this week sees us up to our eyeballs in last minute jobs, packing and saying farewell to friends and family. I expect the next time we 'blog' will be in San Francisco!
